Start: Chachabamba 2100 m                                Destination: Machu Picchu 2400m
Distance to hike:11 km.                                            Time of walk: 6 to 7 hours.
Early in the morning, we will be transferred from the hotel to the station of Ollantaytambo, where we’ll take the train that will leave us 104 km later:  Inca Trail begins on the bridge over the Urubamba River, followed by a gentle climb to the cloud forest, surounded by a wide variety of flora and fauna and archaeological remains of Inca buildings. About three hours later, we reach the archaeological site of Wiñaywayna. Here we get our lunch served. We continue our journey until we reach Intipunku, the Sun Gate in the evening. From here we will have an outstanding view of Machu Picchu.  We will descend to Aguas Calientes to spend the night there.

After a good night sleep, we will take the bus uphill to the mountain which bears the same Name, Machu Picchu. The tour will be guided for 2:30 hours. We will visit the Main Square, the Circular Tower, the Sacred Sundial, the Royal Quarters, the Temple of the Three Windows and the cemeteries. You will have some free time to discover the secrets of that mysterious place on your own.

In the afternoon, we will return to our hotel in Cusco.
